Chesne Hannah Long, 19, of Caldwell, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. She was born on August 1, 2006, in Cambridge, Ohio, the cherished daughter of Brent and Kristen Stephen Long.
Chesne was a shining presence to everyone who knew her. Her warm smile, compassionate heart, and uplifting spirit left a lasting mark wherever she went. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel appreciated and understood, bringing joy, encouragement, and sincere kindness into their lives.
A devoted member of the Caldwell Church of Christ, Chesne lived out her faith through her actions and care for others. She graduated from Caldwell High School in 2025 as a Summa Cum Laude student and was recognized for excellence in both academics and athletics.
An outstanding volleyball player, Chesne set and held multiple school records and earned the respect of teammates, coaches, and supporters. Despite her many accomplishments, she remained humble, hardworking, and deeply committed to her team.
Chesne found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—music that inspired her, time with her beloved cat Luca and her horse Saylor, and creating special moments with family and friends. She held a deep fondness for her annual trips to Gatlinburg and Lakewood, places that brought her great joy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved Pap and hero, Kevin Stephen; great-grandfathers Carl Forshey and Dale Stephen; and her uncle, Darrel Forshey.
Although Chesne’s life was tragically brief, it was filled with meaning, love, and purpose. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched, the moments she shared, and the love she gave so generously.
